British Motorcycle Riders Club (Oxford)

The Cassington bike night started off as a small local bike event in a pub car park and over the years grew into an event with thousands attending.
The organising club, however, is still the small local club that it has been for many years.
The nature of the event, being held on a public road, means that it is not possible to restrict the numbers attending or make any charges towards the organisational expenses.
A lot of hard work has already gone into into preparations for the 2011 bike night, but in recent discussions with the local authorities it has become apparent that the demands on the organisers have become more stringent. Current requirements for traffic management, crowd control and other health and safety requirements demands resources way beyond what the club can provide.
At a meeting on Monday 24th May the club decided that in the face of these new requirements which are beyond our ability to cope with, the most responsible course of action was to cancel the 2011 bike night.
We regret the inconvenience caused to the organisations and businesses that have already put work into the 2011 bike night, and we apologise in advance to those who turn up on the night not having heard about the cancellation.
Please spread the word to anyone you know who may have been thinking of attending.

The 1st Monday of the month is also the meeting night of the Oxford Section of th Vincent Owners Club
